Wildfire Resource Information Available to Students and Employees

Fire Resource Information for Employees

The Employee Assistance Program resources are being provided to help CSUSM employees and their families cope with the impact of the recent fires that swept through the county. Please go to the Human Resources webpage at http://www.csusm.edu/HR/ to access a number of different sites for fire resource information.

Classes Resume Monday/Resource Tables Available

The campus will reopen and classes will resume on Monday, October 29th. There will be resource tables available in front of University Hall for faculty, staff, and students on Monday and Tuesday, starting at 8 a.m., to provide information on available resources for fire-related issues.

Cal-SOAP Workshop Cancelled

Due to the wildfires and air quality, the Cal-SOAP Application Assistance Workshop scheduled for Saturday, October 27th at CSU San Marcos has been cancelled. The event will not be rescheduled. For additional information, visit www.sandiegocalsoap.com.

Students: When campus reopens, students may contact Counseling and Psychological Services (760) 750-4915, and faculty, staff, and students may also contact the Office of the Dean of Students (760) 750-4935 for information on university services for students.

Faculty and Staff: All CSUSM employees who are eligible for health benefits may take advantage of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that is administered by Horizon Health. Cancellation Notice

The “Because I Care” 5k, Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, and CSUSM Alzheimer's and Family Caregiver Resource Fair, scheduled for October 28, has been cancelled due to the wildfires.

Displaced Employees

The university has established a website to gather names and contact information for staff and faculty who have been displaced or otherwise directly affected by today’s wildfires. This information (name, contact information, situation description) will help us to maintain contact with those affected and to provide information about resources available to those in need. 5k and Resource Fair Cancelled

The "Because I Care" 5k, Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, and CSUSM Alzheimer's and Family Caregiver Resource Fair, scheduled for October 28, have been cancelled due to the wildfires.

CSUSM closed

Due to the wildfires, CSUSM is closed through the rest of the week. Plans are to open on Monday 10/29. University Village Apartments remain open. Center for Children and Families will remain closed. All campus activities are canceled until further notice.
